Step 2 - Shape Your Attitude
whatever you try to do a number of times before you'll become confident
and successful.  So don't be scared to fail.  Use it as a learning experience.
Just make sure you'll be able to recover.

Never Give Up
You will run into many, many, negatives, before you’ll finally get one yes.
Count yourself lucky if your idea/effort is rewarded the first time around.
Go and read about Thomas Edison with all his inventions and how many
failed attempts he had and the good that came out of it.
Also read about JK Rowling (author of the Harry Potter series) who was
turned down by many publishing houses, over a period of about a year,
before she got the green light.  Even then, she was told to rather get a day
job since her chances were slim to make money in children’s books.
We all know how big that series became and the success Rowling enjoyed
from writing it.  The Harry Potter brand is worth billions.  What if she gave
up after the eleventh publisher told her no?

You will be hit by numerous failures, things will go wrong and stuff will
happen.  That's just how life works.  It's unlikely that you'll be doing
everything right the first time you try it, therefore you will experience
failure.  Once again the trick is not to give up.  Don't let it get to you, but
rather own it and learn from it.  You'll get out of the mess much faster and
you'll remember your lesson.
Let me share with you a personal story about not giving up.  I used to
smoke a lot.  For 18 years I've tried over and over again to quit the nasty
habit.  I've used patches, I've tried the gum, I've tried to quit cold turkey
and I've tried quitting over a period of weeks.  It all works for a little while,
as long as I was motivated.  But as soon as I let my guard down, I was
back to my old self.  As a matter of fact at one point I quit quitting, because
I just couldn't do it.  Then one day I finally tried again and...
SUCCESS!!!  So what was different this time around?  Why did I have the
will power this time?  Well, I've done it so many times that I learned how
my body would respond to quitting.  I knew I'd get grumpy.  I knew I'd get
headaches.  I knew I'd eat more therefore gain weight.  I knew I was going
to be tempted everyday, the whole day long.  I knew I would have trouble
sleeping.  So knowing all these things, which I learned from previous failed
attempts, gave me ammunition to do it better this time.  I knew how to set
myself up for success.
