| Step 1 - Dream Big |

| either went to university and got yourself in debt, or you started working and tried to survive and also got in debt. There is always something that requires you to spend money. If it’s not the car, then it’s insurance, or a dentist bill, or even worse, the latest gaming console. Your money will find work. If you were not very disciplined right from the start and worked with some sort of plan in mind, chances are you are not as well off financially as you could be. In only a short while we become prisoners in our own rat race. So you run and you run and you start forgetting what it was that made you move in the first place. By the time most people realize this, they think it’s too late to make a change and to take a little chance on themselves. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not proposing you leave your job and do something stupid. Keep your job, but start to think. Think about your future and where you are heading. Is it where you want to go? Are you happy with your life path? Did you choose it, or do you feel life “pushed” you to where you are right now? Do you want to do something about it? This is your own definition of wealth and success. Don’t just think about this exercise in monetary terms only though. Think in broader terms. Think about the importance of having time. Time to spend doing whatever you want, when you want. Think about the importance of having choice and freedom to do what you want, when you want. Think about both your physical and mental ability to do what you want, when you want. Think about the importance of achieving your goals and what success means to you. Think about how money plays a role in all of this and what it means to you to be wealthy. Think of all the things that you want to do, both now and at a later stage in your life. Think of all the things that you want to have. This is what most people associate with wealth. This is only part of it. Wealth does not equal stuff. Think of all the things you want to achieve. This is an important component of wealth, for all the above mentioned aspects of wealth gives you the ability to achieve success. This leads you to self-actualization, which is what you are actually chasing. |
